Fish of the Week: Dario Dario Fish

A.K.A: Bengal Dario, Scarlet Badis

Origin: Asia

Scientific Name: Dario Dario, Badis Bengalensis

Temperment: Very sociable and shy. Not an aggressive species. This fish enjoys being in the company of its own kind.

Life Span: 4 - 6 years

Aquarium Conditions:
-ph: 6.5 - 7.5

-temp: 73 - 79 degrees

Tank Size: Can fit into smaller tanks but it is recommended to keep this little guy with others. I recommend a minimum of 10 gallons for better water conditions.

Fully Grown Size: smaller than 1 inch

Food: likes lots of frozen foods. Will accept flakes if trained to do so

Breeding: No special breeding conditions. This fish is easily bred.

Sexing: The female are duller in color and have more rounded bodies than the males. The males also develop longer pelvic fins upon maturing.

Tank Mates: They are a community fish but should be kept with fish of relatively the same size.
