According to an article I found recently, an inventor by the name of Arnold Lande has invented a suit that allows humans to breathe "liquid air" and swim with the fish. This suit would allow humans to be fish-like and use water as a source of "air".
Although this suit doesn't require the oxygen tanks that divers use, the suit still requires "highly oxygenated perfluorocarbons" or PFC's in a tank to be supplied to the diver.
By using this suit versus the diver's suit, you also eliminate the decompression sickness that can occur when deep diving.
This suit isn't available just yet for purchasing and still needs to be tested on humans. The suit's developer also needs the resources and funds to continue the testing.
To me, the thought of "breathing" in liquid is a scary thing. I'm not sure I'd be willing to test this suit out despite my love for fish.
